The Higley Unified School District will present its 4th annual Higley Fine Arts Festival in a week’s time.
The event will showcase community and student performances and art displays. Artists will be in the cafeteria and courtyard creating their original works, and passersby can ask them for their Business Cards for future purchases. The lobby will be the location of the annual Art Show and attendees can participate in creating the community mural.
Vendors and food trucks will start selling their wares at 8:30 am and performances will begin half an hour later.
The Main Stage will begin the morning with a performance by the elementary choirs and the Art Show awards ceremony. Dance teams from Sossaman Middle School, Higley High School, and Williams Field High School will then perform. A Chinese Wushu martial arts demonstration will be given by Coronado students.
The Little Theater will host the Phoenix Children’s Choir and the Centennial Elementary Choir. They will be followed by theater groups from Sossaman Middle School and Higley High School, and Coronado Elementary Music Theater.
The courtyard will be abuzz with Sossaman Middle School, and Higley High jazz groups and the Gateway Pointe Elementary Music Club presentation. Local school orchestras, the San Tan Drumming Club, and a Trash Can Band will round out the entertainment there.
HIgley Fine Arts Festival will be from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm at Higley High School, 4068 E. Pecos Road next Saturday, April 13.
