Gilbert stops for water break

To beat the heat, the City of Gilbert will be hosting H2O Fest coming in a couple of weeks.

The event will be divided into three sessions for everyone to get enough time on the eight water obstacles. The venue will also feature music and food trucks. Session one will run from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Session two from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, and Session three from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

The $10 tickets must be pre-purchased online as no tickets will be sold at the site, and children under three years old will not be permitted to participate. Adults must be present at the park for those children under 12 years old. Kids ages three to eight must have ticketed adults with them on the slides.

Attendees are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled entry to get their wristbands, and everyone participating on the obstacles must be wearing the bands.

Cities offering events such as this often have local photographers take pictures during the events. These photos often go to local Print shops to be added to the town’s tourist brochure printing.

H2O Fest will take place June 8 on Freestone Park’s lawn and parking lot at 1045 E. Juniper Avenue. Parking will be available in the Gilbert Public Works Department lot at 900 E. Juniper Street, right across the street from the park.
