Sweet events are being planned for Gilbert during February.
The first sweet adventure actually begins on Friday, January 31 and goes to Sunday, February 2. Gilbert Art of Chocolate A’Fair will be a three-day gourmet experience as local confectioners, bakeries, and chocolatiers converge to offer artisan desserts, chocolates, and other sweets for purchase.
Art will also be available for purchase. Artisans will be selling two dimensional works in areas such as photography, painting, paper, and batiks. Other artists will have three dimensional art such as glass, sculpture, gourds, wood, jewelry, bronze, fiber, stone, and mixed media. Doors will be open from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Gilbert Civic Center, 90 E. Civic Center Drive.
Civic Center Park will be the location for the Sweets Festival coming February 15 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Vendors will be selling the likes of fudge, cupcakes, funnel cake, pies, cotton candy tacos, caramels, ice cream, and macaroons. To offset any sugar rushes, savory dishes will be available as well.
Kids can burn off their sugar energy in the Kids Fun Zone, for which wristbands can be purchased online. The zone will have plenty of bouncers and rides like spinning berries.
Darius Lux will be part of the entertainment and School of Rock will be bringing bands. Darius fans may wish to see if he has any Promotional Products for sale. There will also be photo opportunities, cookie decorating, a pie eating contest, and a live art mural.
