Shun the Sun Foundation will be holding its Gilbert Half Marathon and 10K races toward the end of November.
In-person registration will be $95 for the half marathon and $50 for the 10K. Registration for the virtual runs will be available for $30.
Swag will include official technical T-Shirts sporting this year’s graphic design, finisher medals, swag Bags, and refreshments at the finish line.
Awards will go to the top overall female and male winners of each race and for winners in each of 13 age groups.
The course will begin at Higley High School go along corn fields and canals and through local parks including Freestone Park and Riparian Preserve.
The course for the half marathon will have one start line and pick up the 10K runners at a different location along the route at a later time. There will be a gear drop-off for the half marathon, but not for the 10K. School bus shuttles will be at the finish line to take runners back to the starting points.
Runners in both races will need to provide their own hydration bottles, Vests, or belts and will be able to refill them at refill stations along the course.
The half-marathon will begin at 7:30 am at Higley High School, 4068 E. Pecos Road on November 20, while the 10K will begin at 9:00 am at Nichols Park, 700 N. Higley Road.
