The Gilbert Education Foundation invites running enthusiasts to their 7th Annual Gilbert Public Schools “Run for Fun” 5k and 1 Mile Run/Walk.
Along with just having fun and raising funds for enrichment and health activities for Gilbert Public Schools’ students and staff, organizers hope to create awareness for healthy and active lifestyles.
Swag will include custom-made event finisher’s medals and Dri-Fit Tec T-Shirts sporting this year’s event’s graphic design. A Runner’s Brunch of fruit, granola bars, Gatorade and water will be available before and after the race.
Awards in the 5k will go to the top three finishers in 16 age categories. All 5k participants may find photos and check real time results on the event’s website and on Google and Apple mobile apps.
Until race day, registration for the 5k will be $30 for adults and $20 for students ages 3 to 18. Adult registration for the 1-mile walk/run will be $25 and $15 for students. Those not wishing to purchase T-Shirts may receive a $5 discount. On race day 5k registration will go up to $30 for students and $40 for all others.
Race packets will be available from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on February 23rd at Cadence Running Company, and on the 24th beginning at 7:30 am when registration opens on race day.
The 5k will begin at 8:30 am followed by the 1-mile run/walk at 8:45 am on February 24th at Campo Verde High School, 3680 S Quartz Street.
