In a few days, the ninth annual 12Ks of Christmas will be bringing people together to run to benefit the local humane society. The event will be a 12k run, a 6k run/walk, and a 1.2k run/walk.
Swag Bags will be replete with toe and hand warmers, and Fleet Feet Sports Scottsdale will be presenting a couple of runners with free shoes.
All finishers will get commemorative Christmas tree ornaments and awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age division. Along with the race awards, judges at the San Tan Ford Reindeer Stage will be handing out prizes for the best three female and male Christmas 12K-themed running outfits in each of the three races, the three best dressed pets in each race, and top three best decorated entries in the 1.2k. Special gifts will be given to the youth, individual, and family that shows the most Christmas spirit.
Pet-related rescue and pet care organizations will be manning booths at the Pet Village. Goodie Pup will be vending special Christmas dog treats.
A Christmas Bazaar will have over 70 arts, crafts, and merchandise booths selling seasonal gifts, including items for pets. Voo Voo Tutu will be offering pet photos that many proud owners will be making into Holiday Cards. Hot beverages and holiday treats will also be available for purchase.
The big event will be December 9 starting at 10:00 am in Freestone Park, 1045 E. Juniper Avenue, Gilbert.
