Gilbert Regional Park hosts first Independence Day celebration

Many Gilbert families and friends will be heading out to Gilbert Regional Park’s first ever Gilbert 4th of July Celebration on Independence Day to see fireworks and celebrate the holiday as a community.

Entertainment from 5:30 pm (when gates open) to 7:00 pm will be a live DJ. From 7:15 pm to 8:45 pm, attendees will be treated to Garth Live!, a Garth Brooks tribute band.

Park activities will include basketball, pickleball and tennis courts, a splash pad, and a playground. Other activities will take place on the great lawn and the amphitheater. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for seating, along with water and bug spray.

Although outside food may be brought in this year, there will food trucks selling summer treats such as hot dogs, frybread, pizza, burgers, BBQ, mini donuts, and pretzels.

Although general admission will be free, VIP packages cost $75 and include lawn seating for eight, and swag Bags with glowsticks, water, beach balls, and Frisbees. VIP tickets are limited and are going quickly.

Parking will be free but is limited at the park. People are encouraged to carpool, or arrive by bike or foot.

Many towns like to have pictures of inaugural events like this taken to local Print shops to be included in their visitor’s guides. Gilbert Regional Park is located at 3005 E. Queen Creek Road. Fireworks start at 8:45 pm on July 4 and last about 20 minutes.
