Pickleball Legacy Scholarship Foundation will host the PLS fundraiser Round Robin Tournament of Gilbert AZ in mid-May.
This tournament will have a round-robin format with teams arranged by skill and age. Events will admit up to eight teams, all play will use the Selkirk SLK Competition Outdoor Ball and International Federation of Pickleball (IFP) Tournament rules will be followed. To be played on an asphalt surface, the number of games for each team depends on how many teams enter the competition.
Eight events are scheduled, and all members must have 3.0 or better skill levels. Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Senior Men’s Doubles and Senior Women Doubles will be played on the Friday. Mixed Doubles and Senior Mixed Doubles will begin at 8:00 am on the Saturday, and Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles will be played on the Sunday starting at 1:00 pm.
Players will receive basic snacks, water fountains will be available, and everyone is encouraged to provide their own water bottles. No other food will be available on site.
Proceeds will go to the Pickleball Legacy Scholarship Foundation that awards college scholarships to qualified youth players.
Pictures taken at fundraisers like this often go to local Print shops to be added to the host organization’s future media coverage.
The PLS Fundraiser Round Robin Tournament will be Friday, May 13 through Sunday, May 15 at Gilbert Regional Park, 3005 E. Queen Creek Road.
