The last chance for Gilbert horse enthusiasts to bathe Clydesdales this summer will be coming in a few days.
The USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation will be opening its barns to individuals and families to come and get up close and personal with one of the beautiful big horses.
The sessions will be one hour long, and guests will not only learn how to bathe the animals, but also how to take care of them in general. Everyone will get wet, so summer attire and sneakers will be required. Family members will likely be taking pictures for later poster printing and family Calendars.
Each family is asked to donate $25 for the care and upkeep of the horses. Of the money donated, 55% will go to feed and supplies, 20% will be for shoeing and farrier services, 15% will go to veterinary expenses, 5% will go to research, and the remaining 5% will go to administration. The organization is volunteer-run so no money will go towards salaries.
Reservations for this Bath Time should be made days before the event to ensure that there will be one of the six horses and a groom available.
The last Bath Day for the Clydesdales will be next Saturday, August 12 at USACPF, 17208 E. Saragosa Street, Gilbert. There will be two sessions available - one at 8:30 am and the other at 9:30 am.
