Cities around and including Gilbert are going ahead with 4th of July celebrations this year.
The City of Gilbert will be holding its annual free celebration on July 4th. Everyone is invited to bring lawn games, blankets and lawn chairs out to Higley High School, 4068 E Pecos Road, to enjoy summer treats from local food trucks and fireworks around 8:30 pm. Gates will open at 6:00 pm and close at 9:00 pm.
Chandler will be holding its free July 4th Fireworks Spectacular in Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm. The event will feature family-friendly activities, a DJ, music and snack, beverage and food vendors. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:00 pm.
Mesa’s 2020 Arizona Celebration of Freedom has trimmed down its usual array of activities and events to having a drive-in fireworks show only.
Schenpf Farms, 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road, Mesa, will have a tail-gate party with craft vendors, live music, food trucks and a National Flag Service. Guests can bring their own games, food and beverages to enjoy in their own vehicles. Admission will be $25 per car load. Parking passes must be purchased online and none will be available on site. A 30-minute fireworks showcase will begin around 8:30 pm.
