Gilbert kids and their adult sidekicks will be heading for the annual KAPOOW Superhero Adventure Run, which will be coming in mid-April.
The family-friendly fun run will be a series of 15 or more obstacles for little superheroes to conquer. Waves of participants are to be released every 15 minutes from 8am. This will give the little ones on the course enough time to navigate the obstacles. Participants are encouraged to wear their costumes, capes, boots, and other superhero paraphernalia. Superman socks will be included with packet pick-up.
The course will be on uneven unpaved surfaces, and some obstacles will be wet. After running the course, everyone is invited to stay and enjoy Gilbert Gotham City, an area featuring bounce houses, free activities, post-run treats, a DJ, and meet-and-greets with superheroes.
Registration will cost $25 until March 31st, and $35 from April 1st to the 13th. There will no registration on event day. Kids under eight years old must be accompanied by a paid adult.
Packs must be picked up between 2pm and 5:45pm between April 12th and 13th at the Parks and Recreation Office, 90 Civic Center Drive. Packets will contain information, race entry wrist bands that need to be worn on race day, and various superhero giveaways.
Businesses that donate items to giveaways like this often have the items imprinted with their Logo Design.
The KAPOW Superhero Adventure Run has been scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at Freestone District Park, 1045 East Juniper Road.
