At the end of next month, Gilbert will be hosting the 11th annual Arizona Sunrise Series’ fourth running event.
This will be a 5k fundraiser for the St. Mary's Food Bank, and every dollar raised will provide five meals for Arizona families in need.
Registration fees for the 5k will be $35 until June 9 and $40 thereafter. Virtual runs are available for $30 until June 9 and $35 after that. Registration on race day will begin at 5:30 am at Freestone Park, and on-site registration will be $50.
Swag includes chip timing, website photos, a selection of shirts featuring the Arizona running graphic design, and medals. Runners will receive fruit, granola bars, water, and Gatorade before and after the race. Awards will go to the top three finishers across 16 age categories, and the award ceremony will begin around 7:30 am on the day of the race.
Packets will be available from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, June 28 at Tempe Road Runner Sports, 43 S McClintock Drive, Tempe. Runners will have two starting options. They may start whenever they wish from 5:30 am to 6:15 am, or join the mass start at 6:30 am.
This latest leg of the Arizona Running Series will take place at Freestone District Park, East Juniper Avenue on Saturday, June 29.
