Gilbert Department of Parks and Recreation is inviting Nerf ball aficionados to participate in its next competitive, action-packed Nerf Wars coming in early September.
Participants need to bring up to two of their own Nerf guns and their own supply of Nerf Elite size darts. There will be a limited supply of “guns” available at the site. All players will receive snack and Nerf team gear. Everyone is required to attend the safety meeting that will take place before play.
The tournament will use a win/loss bracket format allowing losing teams to play additional games. Each 10-minute round will consist of four teams playing Capture the Flag, and each division will last about an hour. Winners will receive prizes and bragging rights. Wars will be divided into youth and family divisions.
Local businesses may sponsor this event. Community sponsors at the $100 level will get booth space, and flag sponsors at the $300 level also receive their company Logo Design on game flags, permission to add Promotional Products to goodies Bags, and recognition in event announcements.
Presenting sponsors ($750) need to get their logo designs to the event organizers before any event banner printing gets done.
Nerf Wars will be September 9, at the Cactus Yards Fieldhouse, 4536 E. Eliot Road. After that, the next event is scheduled for February 18 of next year.
