Chophouse Ball Club is presenting a rather unique twist to Gilbert Father's Day by presenting its first annual Father’s Day Showdown baseball game in mid-June.
Registration is $60 per father and son pair, and only Father/Son duos may enter. Sons must be 14 years of age or older before June 18th of this year. Participants do not have to belong to the Chophouse Ball Club, and registration will close May 30.
Gilbert fathers and sons will wear their last name on jerseys sporting the same number and will be placed on opposing sides. The game will be played using CBC League rules.
Organizations that present first-time events like this often have pictures taken during the fun. These photos usually go to nearby Print shops to become part of the organization’s future advertising campaign.
Pictures of dads and sons wearing identical jerseys make memorable photos can also be taken to Print shops to be added to family yearly Calendars or to family newsletters.
Warm-up and check-in will be from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm, at which time the game will begin.
Each player will receive a commemorative event shirt sporting this first year’s graphic design. Fan shirts can be purchased on the registration form.
Father’s Day Showdown will take place June 18 at 5:00 pm at McQueen Park Field #8, 510 N. Horne Street.
