Gilbert locals looking for an opportunity to get involved in local government or business activities this year will get a chance later this month.
The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Good Government Roundtable with the Gilbert Town Council. The event has been designed to bring together members of the community, local business owners, and members of the Town Council.
Every year, the local chamber sponsors an event designed to allow everyone in the community to get together to discuss issues pertinent to the Gilbert area. The roundtable this year will also include both town council members and several staff members, offering locals a chance to ask questions, offer opinions, or instigate action. The roundtable format allows for fast-paced information exchange without all the posturing sometimes associated with such events.
Those wishing to participate may also want to arrive early to enjoy the buffet that will be offered. They may also think about having business card printing done for sharing with others during the roundtable.
The roundtable will take place Tuesday, January 19, running from 7:15 am to 9:00 am at Saint Xavier University, 92 W. Vaughn Ave., Gilbert. There will be a small nonmember fee of $35 to cover expenses, while members can attend for $20. The buffet will start at 7:00 am and will be covered by the admission fee.
