It is almost time for the people of Gilbert to gear up for the city’s 4th of July, Fire in the Sky celebration.
This free local traditional Independence Day lawn and tailgate party is once again being co-sponsored by Central Christian Church and the City of Gilbert. Guests are reminded to take non-perishable food items (for the United Food Bank and the Central Food pantry), lawn chairs, picnic lunches, cold drinks, and blankets.
Food vendors at the main location will be selling the usual summer delights. Live music will fill the air, free fans and beach balls will be given away, and T-Shirts with Fire in the Sky logos and Glo sticks will be available for sale. Although commercial fireworks always make great subjects for the city’s future postcard printing, no consumer fireworks will be allowed.
The main location for this event (and the place for the concessions and music) will be at the Central Christian Church-Gilbert Campus at 965 E German Road. Events will run Monday, July 4, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with gates opening at 5:30 pm. Although the fireworks’ start time is scheduled for 9:00 pm, the fire department and the weather will have the final say.
Other sites that offer grassy areas for viewing the fireworks be the Gilbert Soccer Complex 4620 S. Greenfield Road and Campo Verde High School, 3870 Quartz Street.Get a Free Quote for T-Shirts
