Parents of toy Nerf gun enthusiasts are helping them get ready for the inaugural Gilbert Nerf Wars coming to Cactus Yards in mid-September. Participants can look forward to an action-packed competitive evening.
Participants must register so they can be placed in the appropriate age group. Each age bracket will be divided into two teams and each group will play three games: Team Battle Royale, Group choice and Capture the Flag.
The object of Team Battle Royale is to shoot as many opposing players as possible. One respawn base is assigned to each team and team members must return to their base when struck by a Nerf dart. Team members ring a bell for each respawn. The team reaching 30 rings loses.
Regular Capture the Flag rules will be used in the Capture the Flag game.
Swag Bags stuffed with snacks and Nerf gear sporting the original Nerf Logo Design will be given to attendees. Raffle prizes will be awarded every hour.
Although everyone is advised to bring their own Nerf guns, the venue will have a few available for those that forget. Only Nerf Elite darts will be used. A safety meeting will take place for all players before starting their round of action.
Tickets are $10. Nerf Wars will be played in Cactus Yards Fieldhouse, 4536 Elliot Road, September 10th. Participants ages 7 through 10 will play from 6:00 to 7:00 pm and Nerfers ages 10-13 will play from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
