Those in the mood for music, and who like to support talent in the Gilbert area now that the temperatures have dropped, should get ready to relax and enjoy an evening of entertainment provided by local band Booya—a five-piece outfit.
Booya plays blues and Celtic rock, with vocals provided by lead singer Jordan Web. On guitar is Tom Kowalczyk. Kevin Schalick plays banjo, Captain Booya plays bass, and David Davis keeps everyone together on drums.
Since the event has several sponsors, attendance will be free, as will parking at Gilbert Park and Ride On Page Ave. As there will be no vendors on site, organizers suggest attendees either pack a picnic or stop by at one of the fast food outlets on the way to the concert. Also, children of all ages are welcome, though they need to bring an adult with them.
There is no seating at the park, meaning that attendees can either sit on the grass or bring their own blanket or chairs. Those who bring their own chairs will be asked to sit in an area apart from everyone else. Some attendees may wish to bring cameras for taking pictures, perhaps for later use with poster printing.
The concert will be held October 23 at Water Tower Plaza, starting at 6:30 pm.
