Call center to create jobs in Montgomery

SYKES Enterprises recently announced the opening of a new customer service support center in east Montgomery. Plans are that the center will be operational in September and will require the hiring of 500 employees.

According to Senior Vice President of North America operations, Rob Duncan, many of those people will be hired this year. The company provides technical support and customer service for Fortune 500 companies, and its clients want experts who can ramp up quickly on these services and give answers while being kind, efficient, and caring.

He added that the Montgomery location was chosen because those characteristics were found in the people who live in Montgomery, and the company is looking forward to having them become part of the SYKES team.

The new call center is looking for a variety of positions, including human resources, team leaders, a site director of operations, and customer representatives. These new employees will most likely need digital Business Cards once they are hired and begin working for the company.

According to Todd Strange, Mayor of Montgomery, the city, county, and state will give the company a performance-based incentive package, after having worked with the company for a year to close the deal. It is moving to a building that was once a call center and is investing $3m to renovate it.
