Plans submitted for self-catering accommodation in Helensburgh

A couple in Helensburgh have submitted a planning application to the relevant authority in the hopes of getting approval to build a self-catering accommodation facility in the town.

Wayne and Rebecca Cleworth want to turn a former home and a garage building at Fruin Farm into a self-catering place for rent, and they have submitted the Plans for this to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park Authority. If they are given the green light to go ahead with their Plans, they would also put a new holiday cabin at a spot where a summer house currently stands.

The application sent to the authority says that the exterior of the primary farm building would be kept as it currently is, with the exception of adding new doors, windows and a skylight. The farm has been owned and run by the couple since it was first launched six years ago.

However, the couple confirmed last February that they were closing down the restaurant they also run, as they look to shift their attentions to creating a venue that can be rented out for business events, parties and weddings. Business card printing supplied by local outlets helps the owners of such spaces put the word out into the community.

The application also indicates Plans to develop ‘glamping’ accommodation on the site in the future.
