Photographs sought for new Helensburgh project

Both residents and visitors to Helensburgh are being encouraged to submit photos showcasing what makes the town unique for a new community project.

The project is the brainchild of the community council in the town and is part of the wider ‘Vision for Helensburgh’ initiative. The purpose of this project is to find out what local people need and want from their town in the coming years, so that the information can be used to help determine how it is developed.

As well as the photographs the community council is hoping people will send in, it will also be using paper and internet surveys to discover what visitors, residents, community organisations and local businesses think during the upcoming months. Print shops can provide an array of printed materials for organisers of projects such as this.

Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Norman McNally of the community council stated that most people had electronic devices that could be used to snap photos and urged people to take part, adding:

“Your snapshots of the town and surroundings will add up to a rich record of Helensburgh’s community and setting that will accompany the emerging proposals from Vision for Helensburgh at a public event in the autumn.”

All pictures submitted have to be in a digital format, with eight being the maximum number that is allowed.
