Helensburgh will host dog event again this year

An event aimed at dog owners that proved to be a resounding success last year is set to return to Helensburgh this spring, with Plans for the 2019 event now under discussion.

The Top Dogs Day Out was a massive hit with dog owners last time, leading to the decision to bring it back this year. As with the previous year’s event, the Duchess Wood in Helensburgh will be the venue for the day, with the management committee for the woodland having met at the end of last month to begin planning.

The chairman of this committee, Councillor Lorna Douglas, has hopes that the Dogs Trust will attend the event again this year, which would enable owners to have microchips fitted for their precious pets. This chip is required by law now and the Trust is keen to get as many owners as possible on board with it.

Douglas told the Helensburgh Advertiser that the event will also feature coffee and tea stalls, while three professional dog trainers will be in attendance. Events of this sort are often advertised through the use of flyer printing. Douglas went on to add:

“We are way ahead of schedule. We have not got everything in place just yet, but Forestry Commission Scotland will have a stand.”

The event will take place on 31st March.
