Helensburgh to get new military co-working centre

A new centre for co-working is set to launch in Helensburgh later in the spring.

The centre is intended to help the spouses of those serving in the armed forces to develop their careers. The woman behind this idea is Nicky Watt, who moved to Helensburgh with her husband when he was deployed to the Naval Base Clyde, which is located in Faslane. The couple are now back living down south, but Watt is helping to put together this project in her former hometown. The new centre is set to be based at Churchill, not far from the Drumfork Club.

When it opens, it will provide the spouses of those serving in the military with office spaces that they can use for either work or study. It will also offer opportunities for anyone who becomes a member to network, learn about launching a business and pick up new qualifications and skills.

Local printers that can provide quality business card printing services are often useful to those who use this kind of centre. Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Nicky stated that she felt sure it would prove successful even in her absence, adding:

“There had been talk of establishing something like this in Helensburgh for quite a long time however I was the first to actually make it happen.”

The members of the centre will also be running it.
