The Helensburgh 10k women’s race is one of three events that make up the Babcock 10k Series. After being put on hold for the past two years due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, the event will take place again this year, and the champion of the 2019 race – Annabel Simpson – will return to the town to compete once again.
Simpson, who hails from Fife, won the 2019 event in style. Her winning time was 34 minutes and 48 seconds, and she will be hoping to better that in this year’s race. She has already beaten it in the Kilmarnock Roon the Toon 10k held in autumn 2021, where she finished in 33 minutes and 40 seconds.
Flyer printing supplied by local shops is one very effective way of promoting upcoming events such as this.
Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Kenny Douglas from Babcock at HMNB Clyde said:
“We wish all the participants – from novice runners to more experienced athletes - the very best of luck at all three races.”
The other two events in the series are in Glasgow and Dumbarton. The Helensburgh 10k will take place on 5th May, starting from Hermitage Park.
