Fireworks display to take place again in Helensburgh this year

The annual display of fireworks will be taking place again in Helensburgh this year, it has now been confirmed, following an absence of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Helensburgh District and Round Table announced the news that the display would be returning. In response to the confirmation, Graham Hardie from the local council stated that it was fantastic news for people living in the town due to the immense popularity of the event. A barge that is berthed at the front of the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre is set to be used as the launch point for the fireworks.

However, although the fireworks are coming back to mark Guy Fawkes Night, there will not be a bonfire lit in the town this year. The reason that has been given for that is the fact that the usual location for it, at the pier, is undergoing redevelopment work at the moment.

Flyer printing from shops in Helensburgh can be one good way for the people organising local events of this kind to promote them throughout the town quickly and cheaply.

Speaking to the Advertiser, a Destination Helensburgh spokesperson said:

“Thank you to Helensburgh and District Round Table and their supporters for delivering this much loved local event which helps draw visitors to our town.”

It will be held on 6th November.
