Louis Hall went to remote northern Mongolia when he was a teenager, so that he could search for a particular tribe. This was the beginning of his passion for exploration, almost all of which has been carried out on horseback. One of his most famous trips took place three years ago and saw him journey from Siena in Italy to Galicia in Spain.
It became an epic trek and will form the centrepiece of his Helensburgh talk. The key part of the adventure was the attempt to get over the Ligurian Alps by horse, which meant overcoming freezing snowstorms, wolves, rough terrain and injuries.
Hall is set to give his talk as part of the ‘Inspiring People’ programme set up by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. The venue for it will be Victoria Halls.
Local venues generally opt to advertise their upcoming shows, with flyer printing by Helensburgh shops being one way to do that.
Speaking to the Helensburgh Advertiser, Hall said:
“Sharing this journey across the Ligurian Alps, the most challenging section of a 2,000-mile journey I made with an Arabian horse across Europe, will be an adventure in itself.”
The talk will be held on 23rd October.
