Young people to perform at festival in Dunfermline

Young people who attend secondary schools in the Dunfermline area are set to perform onstage at the Carnegie Hall as part of the annual Outwith Festival.

Pupils from the Woodmill and St Columba schools will be taking to the stage as one part of a project called Initiative Arts & Music that was put together in collaboration with partners, including ONFife Cultural Trust, Police Scotland and Dunfermline Delivers. This project has also seen the young people make an album and it is songs from this that they will play at the Carnegie Hall show.

They have been getting help from local studios and music producers to develop this album and it is set to get its release on the same day as the concert. Promotional Products are sometimes used to help advertise creative projects of this kind.

Speaking to the Dunfermline Press, Police Scotland’s school engagement officer, PC Scott Morgan, stated that it had been inspiring to watch the pupils get into the whole thing and learn from the professionals, adding:

“Many of them have been taken out of their comfort zones and have really excelled in this project. They’ve made friends, gained great experience and when the project is finished, they’ll have an album that they’ve created in their hands.”

Both the concert and the album release will be on 6th September.
