Fundraiser announced for planned Dunfermline mural

The group behind Plans for a mural of Robert the Bruce in Dunfermline has announced the launch of a fundraiser, as they seek to generate the necessary cash.

This project is the brainchild of the City of Dunfermline Heritage Group and it has secured permission from Fife Council. Now, it needs to find approximately £16,000 to finance the creation of the mural and is hoping that the fundraiser will help.

If it manages to raise the required sum, the Robert the Bruce mural – as well as one depicting Sir Thomas Randolph – will be painted in the city’s heritage quarter.

Archie Frail is a member of the group and he told the Dunfermline Press that they wanted the local public to play a part in it. He then went on to say:
“We’re going to start crowdfunding and will approach various big, local companies, as well as funding bodies we spoke to previously, such as the Heritage Lottery Fund.”

Flyer printing by Dunfermline shops can be useful when it comes to fundraisers like this one. This is because Flyers are an excellent way of spreading the word.

In addition to the mural, there would be a board with information about Robert the Bruce and his links with Dunfermline. Frail said that those who contribute to the fundraiser could have their names added to it.

A design for the mural is yet to be finalised.
