One of the biggest bands from the 1990s ‘Madchester’ music scene will be coming to a venue in Dunfermline this summer, to play an intimate gig.
Inspiral Carpets were among the prime movers in that scene, along with other bands like the Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses. The band had chart hits at the time, including the likes of Saturn 5, She Comes in the Fall and This is How it Feels, before going their separate ways in 2016. Now, they are back together, and they have a show lined up at premier Dunfermline live music venue PJ Molloys.
It is being touted as a warm-up gig before a big festival date. The band is part of the line-up for this year’s Rockore Festival and will play there the night after the Dunfermline show.
Tickets for the gig in the city are already selling well, as the band have a big local following. Dunfermline venues sometimes choose to promote their upcoming shows using shops that provide poster printing.
Inspiral Carpets played PJ Molloys during 2025 and that show was a sell-out. They will be hoping for a similar response from music fans in Dunfermline this time around.
The show is just one of numerous live gigs at clubs and festivals that they have lined up for this year.
They will be appearing at PJ Molloys on Friday, 21 August.
