Young would-be writers in Dunfermline will get the opportunity to find out how they could soon see their Books in Print at an event run as part of Book Week Scotland.
Dalgety Bay library near Dunfermline will be hosting an event on Monday 26th November to help young writers from the region to get their Books off the ground. The event will feature advice and talks from an established publisher, two literary agents and three writers, and is open to everyone. The focus of the event will be for the panel to give advice on getting a book published and they will be taking questions from the audience. The library will also be offering refreshments in the form of ‘mocktails’ for attendees to enjoy as they put their questions to the panel.
Another event will also run at Dalgety Bay Library on Wednesday 28th November, in which Alan Burnett will be discussing the book ‘From Robert the Bruce to Mary Queen of Scots'. This is a rare opportunity for local people to engage with Burnett, a leading historical writer, on the subject of kings and queens who were from the Dunfermline area.
These events as part of Scottish Book Week show a real appetite for the printed word. Local publishing and Print companies in Dunfermline often work with regionally-based authors to help them get their Books out into the public domain, and this week aims to make young writers aware of this point.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Books
