Popular singer Barbara Dickson has announced that she is planning to retire from performing, and she has chosen Dunfermline as the location for her farewell concert.
Dickson was born and brought up in Fife, so returning for her final performance makes for a fitting end to a glittering career. She started out as a singer during the 1960s, when she was part of the folk music scene in Scotland. Since those early days, she has gone on to sell millions of albums all over the world and receive an OBE for services to drama and music.
The venue for her goodbye to live performance is set to be Carnegie Hall and fans can expect to hear all of her most famous songs. These include the likes of ‘I Know Him So Well’, ‘Caravan’, ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’ and ‘Answer Me’.
Local venues sometimes use poster printing shops in Dunfermline when they need to promote their upcoming shows. Advertising Posters are among the most effective Forms of promotion.
Dickson was born in Rosyth and then moved to Dunfermline. She was a pupil at Pitcorthie Primary School and then Woodmill High.
In addition to her career as a singer, she is also an acclaimed actress. She has won Olivier Awards for stage roles in ‘Spend Spend Spend’ and ‘Blood Brothers’.
Her concert in Dunfermline will take place on 25th October.
