Work on Dunfermline Learning Campus underway

Preparatory work at the site in Dunfermline that will house the first ever ‘super campus’ in Scotland is now underway, ahead of the actual construction process beginning.

The Dunfermline Learning Campus will be a giant complex that will contain new buildings for Fife College, St Columba’s RC High School and Woodmill High School when it is finished. It will be built at a site on the eastern side of the town and is set to cost a total of £180 million. Now drone film showing the early work at the site has been released to the public.

In addition to the college and secondary schools, the completed complex will have amenities for use by the local community. These will include a dance studio, fitness suite, gymnasium and sports hall. There will also be outdoor sports pitches, including ones suitable for use in all weathers, and tennis courts.

Alongside these sports and fitness facilities, the complex will feature creative arts and media studio spaces and a cutting-edge Learning Lab. Brochure printing from shops in Dunfermline can sometimes be the best way to show off the various facilities at complexes like this.

The two schools will be able to take 2,700 pupils, while the college section will occupy nearly five acres. Building work starts in the summer and the campus is due to open in 2024.
