The proposals for this farm were submitted by AMPYR Energy UK Development Ltd and will be constructed on a stretch of vacant land that measures 46 hectares. The chosen site is directly across from the Lochhead landfill and, once it has been completed, it will supply sufficient electricity to light and heat around 7,000 houses in the local area.
Businesses based within Dunfermline, such as Print shops, may also benefit from a new source of renewable and clean energy like this farm opening nearby.
In total, 75,000 solar panels will be put up across the three fields that make up the site. The farm will be managed by Hartree Partners, a New York company, and AGP Group, from Singapore, working in tandem.
According to the Dunfermline Press, Martin McGroarty, the chief planning officer said at the meeting to decide on the Plans that:
“The reason why we’re seeing these applications for solar farms is that there’s a great need for them. They’ve proved to be less contentious than other Forms of renewable energy in relation to getting through the planning process.”
The national grid will receive electricity from the farm.Get a Free Quote for Forms Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Plans
