The celebrated Scottish punk band The Skids have announced that they will be playing an intimate gig this month, and have chosen a venue in Dunfermline for it.
The band was originally formed back in the 1970s and was responsible for launching the careers of Richard Jobson and Stuart Adamson, with the former being the band’s lead singer and the latter being its lead guitarist. During their heyday, The Skids enjoyed a hit single with the song ‘Into the Valley’ before Jobson went on to become a television presenter and film director, while Adamson formed Big Country.
Although Adamson sadly died in 2001, the other three members of the group have reformed and have an album called ‘Peaceful Times’ out. It is an acoustic-based record and they will be playing it in full during the Dunfermline gig, the venue for which will be Fire Station Creative.
Dunfermline is the band’s hometown, which is why the town was chosen for this one-off concert. They will be supported on the night by another local band, the up and coming act Aye Hobos. High quality poster printing provided by Print shops in Dunfermline is sometimes used to advertise gigs like this.
The Skids are set to perform in the town on Saturday 21st March, with tickets for the show priced at £15 each.
