The Commercial Inn is situated in Douglas Street within the town and has received a nomination for the 2023 Great British Pub Awards. This is a prize coveted by the owners of bars throughout the country, but being up for a major award is not a new experience for this particular venue. Last year it was handed the prize Scottish Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The man who manages it is Andrew Black and he has explained the secret of its success to the Dunfermline Press:
“We’re a proper real ale pub and always have been for years and years. We’ve been awarded on our ales and ale quality, the standard of service and the fact it’s a friendly community pub.”
Black went on to say that the regular customers and staff at the pub were the other crucial ingredients. Dunfermline pubs sometimes use Stationery printers in the town to make sure that they have items like drinks and food Menus.
