Organisers of Dunfermline festival keen to continue

The people behind an annual festival that takes place in Dunfermline are determined that it will continue, despite the loss of the organisation that used to fund it.

The Outwith Festival has become a popular part of the cultural scene in the town and Delivering Dunfermline provided the majority of the financing for it. Now, that organisation has closed its doors, but the planning committee for the festival is determined it will not go the same way.

A number of other organisations played important roles in putting it together, such as Fire Station Creative, Write Rammy and Avocado Sweet. Speaking to the Dunfermline Press, Ian Moir from Fire Station Creative and the festival planning committee expressed their sadness that Delivering Dunfermline had gone, but added:

“Now, against the backdrop of COVID-19, we’ll need to adapt our vision whilst retaining the spirit that made it work so well. No-one is better placed to realise this idea than the founders of the festival themselves.”

The first Outwith Festival took place three years ago and it has grown steadily each year since then. Logo Design services in the local area can help the organisers of festivals, when they are relaunching them.

With the 2020 festival having been cancelled because of the virus, the hope is that next year’s will go ahead as normal in September 2021.
