A project that would see Dunfermline significantly expanded at its western edge is expected to get underway at some point next year, according to the developers behind it.
This £600m project will see land on the west side of Dunfermline, once owned by Lord Elgin, used for the construction of two brand new primary schools and over 2,000 homes. It was originally hoped that work at the chosen site would start last year, but it is one of many schemes that have been delayed by the Covid-19 crisis.
The company responsible for it is Stirling Developments, and the firm is putting together its initial-phase planning application at the moment. The developer has stated that this is proceeding, but has admitted that the pandemic has slowed its progress.
Property developers sometimes hire Graphic Design Services situated within the local area to create images showing what planned developments are to look like.
The managing director of Stirling Developments, Peter Stirling, told the Dunfermline Press that:
“We’re hoping to commence site works next year. The past 12 months have been challenging for many businesses – including for Stirling Developments.”
The company is also keen to attract shops and other businesses to the scheme, which is called Broomhall. A total of 68 hectares within the site is available to be used for commercial development.
