It is reported that work will start on a long-awaited Tesco in Dunfermline sometime within the next month, with the aim to have it open by Christmas 2014.
The Courier highlights how there were initial fears that the work would be put on hold on the site, but Tesco itself has confirmed its commitment to the opening of the new store in Dunfermline.
According to The Courier, the planning permission to develop the site was secured six years ago but the development was put on hold until a new plan, which detailed the development of a smaller Tesco, was revised.
Included in the Plans for this new Tesco are a petrol station and a number of recycling facilities. A spokesperson told The Courier a consultation this year concluded that the local people wanted the extra facilities.
Work is to begin on the site during this month, and the work is expected to create about 250 jobs just in time for a grand opening before Christmas.
As well as this good news for Dunfermline, the town might also be receiving a new arts centre which could be developed from the old fire station.
Business and art are important in many towns across the UK, and printing services in Dunfermline incorporate both and might help in the efforts to promote the two developments.Get a Free Quote for Plans
