Gallery in Dunfermline to display artwork by children

A number of children from schools across West Fife are set to have their artwork put on display at a gallery in Dunfermline, after they came out on top in a recent competition.

The pupils were taking part in the annual contest organised by Dunfermline United Burns Club and had to come up with paintings inspired by the poetry of Robert Burns. Now, the seven pieces that earned the highest ratings will be put on display to the public in a new exhibition. The venue for it will be Fire Station Creative.

One of the seven pupils that will see their work displayed is Kerr Ferguson, who attends Bellyeoman Primary School and who won the first prize with a piece based on the poem ‘To a Mouse.’

Speaking to the Dunfermline Press, professional artist judges Dot and Colin Adams stated that they were impressed by the quality of the artworks from the pupils that entered, before adding:
“Kerr produced a competent piece of artwork with a confident, delicate command of his chosen medium with superb attention to detail.”

Brochure printing from outlets in Dunfermline can help local galleries when they are putting on new exhibitions like this one, by providing colour Brochures with information for visitors.

A date for the paintings to go on display at Fire Station Creative has not yet been revealed.
