Private roads in Dunfermline and the wider West Fife area are set to undergo much-needed repairs, after the money was found to carry out the work.
Close to £35,000 has been set aside specifically for dealing with the problems caused by potholes and other flaws in the surfaces which are causing concerns for vehicle safety. In a report that he submitted to Fife Council, the service manager Ian Smart, stated that because the council was not directly responsible for these roads, there had been a limited amount of money spent on maintaining them.
According to the Dunfermline Press, his report also went on to say that a council budget meeting last February had agreed to ring fence £150,000 for roads and transportation, following a large number of requests from local people for the town’s private roads to be repaired. Local councils often use Stationery printers based in the area.
There are currently 14,609 private roads in Dunfermline and the council is set to spend £9,600 on these to get rid of potholes and other damage to the surfaces. The rest of the £35,000 will be spent on roads in other parts of West Fife.
Progress reports on the work will be sent to area committees, who will also be in charge of approving, prioritising and managing all the budgets for the project.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
