A legendary Scottish band that ranked as a favourite of Kurt Cobain will be coming to Dunfermline during the summer to play a gig, having reformed more than a decade ago.
The Vaselines originally got together in 1986, but split up a few years later. Then their name was given a boost when Nirvana singer and songwriter Cobain publicly cited them as one of his all-time top groups. His band even recorded covers of several of their songs, such as ‘Son of a Gun’ and ‘Molly’s Lips.’ There is a good chance that these tunes will be among those on the set list for their show in Dunfermline.
The venue for it will be PJ Molloys. Promotional Products are often used to help with the advertising of events like this. Given the reputation that The Vaselines have among alternative rock fans, interest in the gig seems likely to be high.
Despite Cobain’s enthusiasm for their work, the group opted not to get back together at the height of Nirvana fever during the 1990s. Having split in 1989, the main duo Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee chose to continue pursuing their own projects.
It was not until 2008 that they reunited. They have been touring and recording new music on a consistent basis since then. They will play PJ Molloys on 25th July.
