Dunfermline to host Picnic in the Park

Dunfermline will be playing host to a special Picnic in the Park event this summer as a replacement for the children’s gala that usually takes place in the town.

That event has been scrapped this year, because there were not enough volunteers available to make it viable. However, the committee for Carnegie Dunfermline Trust, which organises it, has now come up with the Picnic in the Park idea to take its place, and sees the Glen in Pittencrieff Park as the perfect location for the event.

The Trust is promoting it as a chance for families living in the town to enjoy a celebratory day featuring fun activities and entertainment, such as live music. There will also be plenty of drinks and food to keep everyone refreshed on the day.

Graphic Design Services in Dunfermline can help community groups such as this one to come up with Posters for their events, making them colourful and artistic enough to attract attention.

Gillian Taylor from the Trust told the Dunfermline Press that it had put together a consultation with local people last summer to get ideas on how Pittencrieff Park and Pittencrieff House could be used more, adding:

“Overwhelmingly, people told us that they love the Glen and it has been a green haven for many during the pandemic.”

Picnic in the Park will be held on June 5.
