Dunfermline set to get specialist gin store

Those residents of Dunfermline who enjoy a glass of gin will be able to choose from a wide variety later this year, with the news that a specialist gin store in opening in the town.

Called The House of Gin, this shop is set to offer a varied selection of brands produced by distilleries throughout Scotland, in addition to containing its own restaurant and bar where customers can try out the drinks in-store and together with a meal if they choose. Although the exact location for the shop has not been revealed yet, it will be right in the heart of the town.

The men behind the idea are Daniel Sobieraj and Chris Matheson, with the latter having quit his previous employment within the offshore industry so that he could give his full attention to the store. New shops often stock giveaway Promotional Products when they first open, to help attract customers.

Speaking to the Dunfermline Press, 46-year-old Matheson said:



“For the last two years now I have been working on this idea. I like gin myself and there is such a broad market out there of Scottish gins that many people don’t have access to.”




He added that the notion of including a restaurant within the store came from Sobieraj, who is a fully qualified chef. The store is due to open in February.
