With the festive season now just around the corner, residents of Dunfermline are being encouraged to sign up for a popular annual pre-Christmas event, as the Santa Dash returns to town.
This event involves both adults and youngsters who live in the town donning their finest red Santa Claus outfits and taking to the streets in a race against each other. In addition to helping to get people into the festive spirit, the event is also designed to raise money for charity. Now those wishing to participate in the 2022 Santa Dash can sign up, as entries are open.
The main route that the entrants will take starts at East Port and finishes at the glen gates. However, there will also be an alternate run of 5k that will take them around Pittencrieff Park, if they prefer.
Dunfermline Rotary Club is the organiser and is trying to get the word out to local people to sign up. Poster printing from shops in Dunfermline can be a big help to those putting together events like this, when promoting them.
Those who put their names down to enter will be able to fundraise for the charity of their choice, but the cash that the Rotary Club raises will be given to ones based in the local area.
It will be held on 20th November starting at 2pm.
