Dunfermline gets major jobs boost

Dunfermline is set to receive the best possible Christmas present in the form of roughly 30 new employment opportunities, thanks to the video link service for mortgages provided by Nationwide.

This has been such a success that Nationwide will have vacancies for 30 people in its personal banking and mortgage consultancy departments, to be located at Caledonia House in the town’s Carnegie Avenue.

In addition, there are likely to be further vacancies created for residents of the town throughout 2015, while the increased presence of the Nationwide Building Society should benefit local businesses like Stationery printers in Dunfermline, which will be needed to supply all of its business Stationery.

The boost to employment and the local economy is the result of the remarkable success Nationwide has experienced with its NOW service, enabling customers to speak to mortgage consultants in different locations, using video links.

Speaking to a local news source, the Dunfermline and West Fife MP, Thomas Docherty, said that Nationwide increasing its stake in the town represented an endorsement of the steps taken to encourage business opportunities in the area. He commented:

“I have met with Nationwide on a number of occasions over the past year and it’s clear they understand the advantages our area has to offer employers.

“I will continue to push these advantages to other businesses.”

Those residents interested in the vacancies can find further information at the Nationwide website.
