charity through the Limekilns Breakfast Dip.
This is an annual event and takes place on New Year’s Day in Limekilns, near Dunfermline. This year over 200 people of all ages raised around £3,000 for Fife Young Carers by soaking themselves in the River Forth.
It represented a real improvement on the turnout in 2015 – roughly 120 people – and those responsible for organising it stated that it had been an outstanding success.
Main organiser Alex Hill told the Dunfermline Press:
“We had an amazing turnout and we have tripled last year’s total I would say. One girl got £1,000 of sponsorship on her own and we sold £800 of raffle tickets, and the Crossford and Limekilns Scouts sold 400 bacon rolls.”
He went on to add that the local streets started to fill up by lunchtime and were packed within an hour. Alongside the 220 people who waded into the river, a further 750-800 chose to attend the event as spectators.
Local charity events of this kind are always able to make use of places that offer poster printing in Dunfermline to promote their activities by distributing around the area.
