Fife police have worked with the UK’s leading fraud prevention organisation, CIFAS, to produce a booklet that encourages local residents of Fife and Dunfermline to follow examples of best practice to avoid getting stung by fraudsters. The booklet is called ‘The Little Book of Big Scams’ and it features a foreword from consumer rights expert Esther Ransen.
Colin Beattie, a superintendent with Fife police, commented on the new booklet, saying:
“The booklet outlines how the frauds work, and also gives real-life examples of how people have been taken in by the criminals who carry out such frauds. As well as detailing the various frauds, such as door-to-door scams, dating and romance scams, banking and payment card scams and many others, the booklet gives valuable advice on how to protect yourself from fraud and what to do if you find you are a victim of scammers.”
The booklet appears on the official website of the Fife police service and is available to be either read online, or downloaded and printed for reading at a later date. Booklets like this are often produced and distributed in conjunction with local brochure printers.
Dunfermline and Fife residents are being advised to read the booklet to avoid falling victim to fraudsters, who may be working to steal money from or even the identities of local people using various tricks and scams. Many scams can easily be spotted and avoided with the help of the booklet.Get a Free Quote for Booklets
