Stephens Bakery secured its place among the final competitors after successfully negotiating the award process. This involved a public vote and an assessment conducted by a judging panel made up of 50 professionals from the bakery sector. The head of this panel, Robert Ross, stated that the Dunfermline bakery had received more than 8,000 votes from its customers and over 30,000 votes for different products that it makes and sells.
He went on to add that the firm should take pride in reaching this stage of the competition, as only products that get the top percentage in all categories and across all regions achieve this and that the standard for this year had been particularly high.
This is the eighth successive year that this competition has taken place and when firms win awards they sometimes get new Business Cards printed to reflect these achievements. Speaking to the Dunfermline Press, Alasdair Smith from Scottish Bakers, said:
“The Scottish Baker of the Year Awards is one of the most prestigious awards a baker can win…So we are delighted to once again be giving Scottish bakers the chance to shine and showcase their skills.”
The winner of the title for 2019/20 is to be revealed on 8th June.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
