This team is made up of Sarah Young, John Gibson, Christopher McBay, Billy George, John Park and Ian Moir, and they launched Fire Station Creative during the summer of last year. Since then it has become a successful enterprise, with over 200 people choosing to visit its art gallery each day. Furthermore, it has had full occupancy for its studios.
The award that it is nominated for is a national one and the chief executive of Arts and Business Scotland, David Watt, told the Dunfermline Press that:
“This year’s shortlist is a fantastic reflection of the innovation and creativity which exists between the cultural and business sectors, contributing to a thriving and vibrant cultural offering here in Scotland.”
Alongside the board of Fire Station Creative, others in contention for the award include radio station Absolute Classics, National Museums Scotland and National Theatre of Scotland.
The ceremony will be held at the New Auditorium in Glasgow Royal Concert Halls on the 23rd March.
Organisations like this one can always rely on places in Dunfermline that offer poster printing if they want to showcase any of the work produced by the artists based there.
