Ayr will be playing host to a major national sporting contest later in the year, and now the call has gone out to voluntary workers to sign up and help out.
The town will be hosting the Bowls Scotland National Championships, which is one of the biggest sporting events in the country. In total, around 7,000 people are likely to travel to Ayr so that they can watch the matches. There will also be over 1,500 bowls players coming to the town to compete in the event. This means that volunteer workers are urgently needed.
Among the jobs that people will have the option of signing up for are: information booth attendants; general marshalling; cloakroom assistants; communication and photography support workers; hospitality coordinators; live scoring assistants and ticket sales workers. No prior experience is needed for any of them.
When the organisers of events like this are trying to recruit people, flyer printing by Ayr shops has the potential to be useful with items like Flyers that can easily be handed out to people on the street.
The venue for this particular event is set to be the National Centre for Bowling, which is on Hunters Avenue, Ayr. The championship has been held every year since 1894 and was won last year by Iain McLean.
This event is scheduled to take place between 26th July and 2nd August.
